How To Store Wine
Short term storage
For open bottles, you can recork and set in the refrigerator standing upright.
For closed bottles, a counter top wine rack will work fine. Store the bottle on their side in the wine rack. Just make sure not to store the bottles in direct sunlight, next to a direct heat source (like the stove or oven) and away from the dishwasher. The dishwasher can create vibrations will can damage the wine.
Long term storage
Store the bottles on their side at constant temperature and away from direct sunlight. Bottles are stored on their side and in a consistent humidity to keep the cork from drying out. Be careful though, you don’t want it too humid, or the cork may mold and ruin the wine. The best temperature is 55 degrees Fahrenheit and 70 percent humidity. Wine refrigerators are specially designed to maintain the perfect storage environment for the cork and wine.
